Let Your Beauty Show Warmth (Fall Color Palette)

Fall/Autumn Season Palette

Welcome to the Fall/Autumn season of our color analysis! Discovering what season(s) fits you best is the first step to creating and understanding the new beautiful you. If you’ve taken the “3 Step Quiz” in the previous blog, double check by reading below to see if your beauty fits into this category and to better understand your season. You may have more than one season palette so be sure to check out the others too! It’s nice to toggle between two season palettes for variation.

When you look at the Fall palette think of the colors from nature. The bright vivid colors of the changing leaves, the deep browns of trees and rich earth, and the clouding grey skies.  All palettes are inspired by the colors of nature. Now let’s see if you’re a Fall palette. If you’re similar to the examples below you’re a match!

Eye Color: Do your eyes have these certain colors? Look into a mirror outside in the natural light to be certain. Golden blue, peacock blue, golden green, grayish green, hazel, dark hazel, light brown, warm dark brown, or black brown.

Hair color: Does your hair have undertones of warm tones? Think back to what your hair color was as a child this will help! These colors can be either light, medium, or dark shades. Hair color can be dark/deep golden blonde/brown, warm red, warm brown, light/warm chestnut, and black brown with red undertones. Even black can have a cool or warm undertone just hold it up to the sunlight. If it glows red, copper, orange, or with warm undertones you are most likely in the Fall category.

Please note dying your hair can change which palette you belong to. For example, my hair is naturally ash blonde putting me in the category of Summer, but I dye it a light golden blonde which also puts me into the Spring category as well!

Skin color: Skin color can be beige, ivory, neutral beige, golden beige, peachy, cream, warm olive, latte, caramel, bronze, pecan brown, peanut butter truffle, amber, browned caramel, milk chocolate, espresso brown, and may have freckles. If you’re still not sure put some of the Fall colors next to your skin to see if it complements you.

Check out the other palette tests to see if you have more than one season.

Here are the three most common combinations of Fall with the other seasons:

Fall/Spring– colors are rich/bright, warm, and golden

Fall/Summer– colors are warm, delicate, and muted/soft

Fall/Winter– colors are deep, rich, and warm

There are two main Fall palettes Soft/Muted and Clear. For example, during the summer time I can use the Warm color palette while in the winter time I can use the Cool color palette. During spring and fall I like to mix and match both cool and warm variations.

Here are some common color palettes. Choose what colors you like best to create a unique style just for you!

Soft/Muted Fall  (aka Light Fall)- teal, turquoise, cream, flame, camouflage green, deep lavender, salmon and many more! These colors look soft on both lighter and darker skin. Take a look at the color swatches below and choose your favorites to create your own palette.

Clear Fall (aka True/Bright/Rich/Deep Fall) always based on warm undertones. Brick red, vivid pumpkin, deep peach, chocolate, marigold, plum, warm black and many more! These colors tend to be a strong contrast on fair skin and more soft on darker skin. Take a look at the color swatches below and choose your favorites to create your own palette.

Now that you’ve looked over the Fall season palette I recommend you check out the other seasons too! You may have more choices. Once finished with discovering what palette(s) work best for you, making a small swatch booklet with the colors of your choice would make a most excellent guide for shopping.
