Winter Season Palette
Welcome to the final palette of our color analysis the Winter season! Discovering what season(s) fits you best is the first step to creating and understanding the new beautiful you. If you’ve taken the “3 Step Quiz” in the previous blog, double check by reading below to see if your beauty fits into this category and to better understand your season. You may have more than one season palette so be sure to check out the others too! It’s nice to toggle between two season palettes for variation.
When you look at the Winter palette think of the colors from nature. The bright vivid colors of the setting sun, the cold tones of ice and frozen snow, and the pop of flowers resisting winter’s biting edge. All palettes are inspired by the colors of nature. Now let’s see if you’re a Winter palette. If you’re similar to the examples below you’re a match!
Eye Color: Do your eyes have these certain colors? Look into a mirror outside in the natural light to be certain. Dark blue, grey blue, charcoal grey, grey green, brown hazel, black brown. The colors tend to be sharp, clear, and vivid in color.
Hair color: Think back to what your hair color was as a child this will help! These colors can be either light, medium, or dark shades. Hair color can be white, ash grey, salt and pepper, cool grey, steel grey, ash blonde, mid to dark brown, cool browns, blue black. Even black can have a cool or warm undertone just hold it up to the sunlight. If it glows red, copper, orange, or with warm undertones you are most likely in another category with warmer colors.
Please note dying your hair can change which palette you belong to. For example, my hair is naturally ash blonde putting me in the category of Summer, but I dye it a light golden blonde which also puts me into the Spring category as well!
Skin color: Skin color is always cool and can be very fair with pink tones, beige, rosy beige, olive, dark brown, espresso brown and cacao black. If you’re still not sure put some of the Winter colors next to your skin to see if it complements you.
Check out the other season palette tests to see if you have more than one season.
Here are the three most common combinations of Winter with the other seasons:
Winter/Spring– colors are bright, clear, and cool
Winter/Summer– colors are clear, cool, and icy
Winter/Fall– colors are clear, cool, and deep
There are two main Winter palettes Clear and Deep. I like to mix and match both variations during the different seasons. You will find one palette is softer than the other or has colors that are workable for a certain season.
Here are some common color palettes. Choose what colors you like best to create a unique style just for you!
Clear Winter (aka True Winter)- White, navy, sapphire, lemon yellow, rose pink, pale lavender, light fuchsia pink, pine green and many more! These colors look striking on both lighter and darker skin. Take a look at the color swatches below and choose your favorites to create your own palette.
