Pure Smile facemasks – Japanese product review

Pearl Essence facemasks 真珠エッセソスマスク

The pearl mask provides a layer of hydration and contains hyaluronic acid (skin softener), collagen (anti-aging), and Q10 ubiquinone (anti-aging) to create a soft and healthy glowing skin.

How to use*

Wash face and use after a hot shower for the best level of absorption. Place sheet mask onto face. Empty remaining liquid and apply over the mask and onto the neck area and shoulders. Let the mask sit for 10-15 minutes. Peel off and lightly pat in excess liquid. Optional* you can cover your face in plastic wrap or there are silicon mask covers you can buy. These are great for holding the mask on and allowing you to go about your daily tasks. It also prevents the mask from drying too quickly and helps increase absorption into the skin.

Pros

– Provides topical hydration and nutrients to the skin

– Relaxes and skin and facial muscles

– Low alcohol content

– Refreshes the skin

– Helps with inflammation and overly dry skin

– Doesn’t clog pores or cause breakouts

Cons

– Using sheet masks in general are a temporary form of hydration. For any kind of skin improvement using them about once a week is most affective.

– Very thin liquid, water based providing light hydration and not deep oily hydration

Product Results

One use of this mask does give the skin a softer appearance and these kinds of masks are good to add into your daily skincare routine. However, if you’re looking for a deep hydrating mask I don’t recommend this brand. This is more of a toner style and not lotion based mask. I use these about once a week for relaxation and refreshing the skin or if I need something to quickly boost my skin’s moisture levels. Overall it’s a pretty good product.
