~Chapter 4~ The Office Goth – Women’s edition

In the darkness, goths rule the nightworld so it’s time to shine some light on the newest trends and dust the webs off our inner goths. In this series of chapters, I will be exploring the emergence of the latest trends in fashion’s underworld.

I’ve always wanted to dress in a gothic wardrobe fulltime but as I grow older the demands of the workplace require a much more modest approach to fashion and everyday life just doesn’t allow it as often.

So here’s my approach to the latest gothic trends that you can wear at work, in public, and even abroad. Dress how you want to dress. Gothic trends are emerging more elegant and mysterious than before and it’s time to add some new styles into the mix.

Ferocious Footwear

Not every day can we wear sky high heels especially in the work place which requires a more down to earth approach in footwear. Which is why I present to you a spell book full of looks that are edgy, comfortable, and oh so wicked. Let’s keep it spiced up in the office and release the inner goth.

In today’s work environmant it’s all about the flats. They are comfortable and easy to walk in while keeping your toes protected and your looks polished, but who says they have to be boring?

Flats come in a variety of materials, but nothing beats crushed velvets of crimson softness or black patent leather for a sexy shine. Go a step further and add some spikes into the mix or a floral print to make them more noticeable. This type of shoe is versatile for any wardrobe easily pairing with pants, skirts, shorts, dresses, and more.

Now how about them heels? Let me introduce you to “kitten heels”. It’s a heel designed and crafted with such comfort that you can even run in them although I don’t recommend doing so!

These heels give you the extra lift, but since the heel is short the strain on your feet isn’t torture. Pretty much any shoe with a low heel fits in this category, but for this look we want an office vibe to our kittens.

Do frills give you chills. That’s ok because the loafer, as ridiculous as that sounds, are the perfect solution to the more androgynous side of women’s fashion. They usually have a medium to short heal and I find this shoe has a lot of flexibility for all day comfort. There are grandma versions out there so proceed with caution and choose wisely.
