Ghassoul Powder Mask ~ Japanese product review

Clay mask powder by ナイアード Naiad (150grams)

A face and body mask used to extract dirt from pores and tighten them with the natural ingredients of Ghassoul clay from Morocco.

How to use*

Cleanse face before using. In a small mixing bowl combine the ratio of 1 part clay powder 2 parts water. (You can mix in additional clay if you want it to be thicker). Mix thoroughly until a thick mud paste is acquired. (You don’t need much to apply over the whole face). Apply over face and body and let it fit for 5 minutes. Rinse off and moisturize as usual.

Pros

~ Absorbed oil from the pores

~ Made of 100% natural refined clay

Cons

~ Skin became super red and inflamed

~ So drying it left my skin withered and itchy

~ Too strong for sensitive skin and too drying even for oily skin

My face has never felt so dry after using this product. It left my skin bright red almost like a chemical burn for most of the day. My skin was overly dried and I can’t recommend this product to anyone it’s just not healthy. As an alternative I could see it being more effective if combined with other ingredients such as in soaps for washing to remove oil. Do not put this directly on your skin! It’s very damaging. They also recommend using it to absorb oil from your hair, but this product is too concentrated that it would take away all of your natural oils. It’s only a good product if you can dilute it with other ingredients and use it sparingly. Don’t use this product as a stand alone. Goodbye Ghassoul mask and back to trying out another clay mask!
